Hilly Kristal, founder of America's most famous punk rock venue, CBGB's, passed away at the age of 75 as a result of complications of lung cancer. Kristal founded the club in 1973 and operated the venue until it closed its doors for good last year. The venue hosted a slew of artists over its years of operation including the Ramones, The Police, Gorilla Biscuits, Blondie, Warzone, Patti Smith, Cro-Mags, and many many others.
