Photographer Melanie Nissen (Slash fanzine, 1977-1980) will be featured in a new book of early US punk photography called Hard + Fast, publishing on Feb. 1, 2022 via Blank Industries.
While roughly forty years since taking the photos, it is Nissen's first official collection, to be published in a hardbound art book.
As a scene participant herself, Nissen was friends with many of the artists featured, which adds to the intimate feel of many of the photos. Nissen has also worked as a photographer and graphic designer for Warner Brothers, Atlantic, Virgin, and A&M in the years since leaving Slash.
