Superchunk are continuing their digital single for Halloween tradition, yesterday releasing "There’s A Ghost b/w Alice” (Merge Records).

It's the first new material from the band since they released What a Time to Be Alive in 2018, with an original a-side and then a cover of Sister of Mercy's 1983 song "Alice" on the b-side.

Speaking of the song, Mac McCaughan explains, "I didn’t write a song for probably the first 6 months of the lockdown. This is one of the first and it came just in time for Halloween. Jim and Jon came over with their masks on, and Laura tracked her bass in her bass-ment. Try and get some fresh air when you can, people!"
