Alex Pley comments on the video:
Shooting this video was intense; our music is generally pretty heavy in whatever way you absorb it, but we hit on some themes that affect more people today than ever before. I myself have struggled with mental health and substance issues, and I have to say, we (and the crew) hit the nail on the head when recreating a community support meeting. The anxiety that was felt through the camera lens matched a lot of what I and many others have felt in those meetings, and I'm blown away that we were able to capture it. When I sent pictures to my Mom from the set, she told me that it triggered a lot of old feelings of when I was struggling for my life - and I knew we surpassed what I was hoping to achieve. Sorry, Mom
Dan Thomson says:
The idea of the cancer sleep video was one I was hesitant to use at first. Sometimes it's really a struggle to find a visual partner to go with a song, especially if you're writing with a specific thing in mind: It can be hard to let go of what that is. Somehow, we found the sweet spot and were able to really find a visual that stands on its own, while also fitting the intensity of the song in a thematic sense. Justin, our main character, just exuded the jarring, uncomfortable, almost painful feel of the song in a way that I don't believe anyone else would have been able to.
