Lifeforce Records signs Winterus

Posted by Jon E. on October 6, 2010

Michigan progressive/black metal band Winterus has signed a multi-album deal with Lifeforce Records. Originally formed last year under the name The Ancient, the group self-released a five-song EP in May. Winterus will enter the studio on December 1st to begin work on their full-length debut, titled "In Carbon Mysticism." Production and engineering will be handled by singer Christopher Erich Neu at his own studio in Michigan, while mixing and mastering will come from Ken Sorceron (of Abigail Williams and Aborted). Bassist Matthew Dilliner comments on the new material: "On this album we are looking to push the boundaries of black metal further than they have ever been before by creating intense sonic landscapes alongside classic black metal and death metal influences. We hope that our honesty and passion is well-received. I think Christopher (lead singer) will do an amazing job tracking and producing the record and we are also extremely pleased to be working with Ken Sorceron as he will handle the mixing and mastering duties." www.myspace.com/Winterus
