Hardcore labels Deathwish Inc. and Malfunction Records have merged together into one label with Deathwish handling the day-to-day operations of both labels.
Malfunction was formed in 1999 by Linas Garsys and Tru Pray and has released albums from a number of prominent hardcore and punk bands, including Internal Affairs, Ceremony, Count Me Out, Piece By Piece, Meltdown, Give Up the Ghost, and Bitter End among others.
First order of business for the merged labels will be the new full-length from Texas hardcore outfit Bitter End. The band released their debut 7", Mind in Chains, in 2006 and will issue their full-length debut, Climate of Fear, on September 11th under the Malfunction banner.
