Posted by Michael on April 17, 2007

Hydra Head Records has announced two new releases for the Summer. First up, the label will be releasing the new full-length from Oxbow, The Narcotic Story, a nine-song affair tracking in at just about forty-five minutes. The album is slated for a June 5th release. In conjunction with its release Oxbow will be touring extensively. The band is touring Europe with Isis from May 24th to June 22nd with additional outings July 2nd in London and July 15th in Birmingham for the Supersonic Festival. A U.S tour will be announced subsequent to their return. In related news, Oxbow vocalist Eugene Robinson will release a book titled "Fight: Or, Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Ass-Kicking but Were Afraid You'd Get Your Ass Kicked for Asking" this fall release, which will be followed by a spoken word tour. The second announcement from Hydra Head is the release of Bergraven's Dödsvisioner on May 22nd. The band is described as "sweeping riff dirges, winding cinematic passages, melodic guitar interludes, tortured-yet-vaguely-authoritarian & Germanic vocal overtones and—get this—ambient pedal steel excursions."
