We're proud to introduce a new series here at Scene Point Blank: One Question Interviews. Follow us at facebook or twitter and we'll post one interview every Monday-Thursday. Well, sometimes we miss a day, but it will be four each week regardless.

Bryan W. Fleming (Lasting Impression)

SPB: What is the worst stereotype you encounter when others discover you’re in a band?

Fleming: The worst stereotypes I think we encounter as a band is that people think we are some crazy, evil people or even just that we are assholes. Our music is meaningful to us and can be dark but we are still just three goofy, nice dudes who love what we do. We shake hands, we give hugs, and we love meeting every person who will talk to us. A lot of people think that we only listen to hardcore and punk too just because that is the type of band we play in. There are a lot of different answers, but definitely it seems most common that a book is often judged by its cover. Open it up and read a chapter before you write the book report.

Joe Queer (The Queers)

SPB: What is the weirdest venue you've ever played a show at?

Joe: Hands down the weirdest club I've ever played was Cafe Mokka in Thun, Switzerland. It's run by the freakiest dude I've met in many a year. A guy we call Mokkaman. One of the gayest fuckers in the world. Makes my Japanese wife seem like a lumberjack. He's as odd as they make 'em but a hell of a cook. He has a little mincing houseboy named Mario. He'll clap his hands and say "Mario! Mario" in a high voice and some Gollum-esque creature (obviously on the gay side of the fence himself) will come running to do his bidding. What those two are up to at night I'd rather not muse on.

After we played we were hanging out and Mokkaman asked Lurch if he wanted any chocolate cake. Lurch said he wasn't sure and Mokkaman told him, “Midnight's the best time for chocolate cake.” That was enough for us and we hightailed it outta there before we got buttfucked or something. The whole place is full of ‘60s toys and weird pictures and drawings and...stuff. Strange as hell. It's basically what a gay club would have been if the Nazis had won the war. Well worth a visit and I recommend it highly. Tell them Joe sent ya!

Ryan K. Heise (System and Station, vocals/guitar)

SPB: What is your most common touring fast food choice?

Heise: It all depends on how long you are out and how pleasant you want the van to be. We usually stick to grocery stores and try to avoid the fast food but the longer we are out we inevitably end up at a fast food joint. I would say Subway more then not but I love myself a Popeye's two piece meal with green beans, that's usually the last day of tour as to not break the band up! Honestly though, fast food can drag you down quick. Best to stay to the fruits and veggies kiddos.

Ryan Young (Off With Their Heads)

SPB: Is there a particular interview question you’d like to never answer again?

Young: Interviews can go one of 2 ways for me. Either they get me to talk about fond memories, or they are pestering. I've always been kind of a butthole, but any question that can be found using google will simply be answered by "google.com." Wikipedia puts people doing interviews on the spot with me. Oh, and "Where did you get your band name from?". Who cares.
