Fucked Up MTV Controversy

Posted in Bands on January 24, 2007

Fucked Up had their January 16th gig opening for a spoken word performance by Henry Rollins in Toronto at the Masonic Temple taped for MTV Canada's "Live" concert series. Well, apparently things got "out of hand" and a significant amount of damage was done during Fucked Up's set. According to guitarist 10,000 Marbles, "Well, we started playing and people started going mad and slam dancing and throwing monitors and pulling grates off the walls. MTV won't show it to anybody and we ended up doing $2000 in damages." Despite Mr. Marbles statement, the performance hasn't been banned as it is airing on MTV Canada and can be viewed online as well. No word on a whether the performance will ever see the light of day on the US edition of MTV. In the meantime you can watch Fucked Up's performance of "Baiting the Public" from the gig here.
