the Jesus Lizard are wrapping up their busiest year of the 21st century with a new standalone single, "Cost of Living," posted below (Ipecac Recordings), just as the band preps for winter tours in the US and, subsequently, the UK in the coming year.

The band released Rack, their first album in 26 years earlier in 2024. The new single is a digital-only follow-up.

“Simply because I wrote the words to ‘Cost of Living’ doesn’t mean that I know exactly what it’s about,” David Yow says in a statement. “I think it has to do with the dread and self-loathing that addicts experience on a very regular basis. You can pick whichever type of addict you choose.”

The band has additional US and Europe dates scheduled for 2025 (below).
