The Copyrights are back, having announced their upcoming 4-song EP earlier. The EP will be titled New Ghosts, out Oct. 18 (Fat Wreck Chords). Now the band has another update -- the new song/video, "Buried Treasure," plus a few live dates coming up before the band heads to FEST 22 in Gainesville, FL next month.

"I wrote this song during COVID, which I think comes through pretty clear with the themes of isolation and cabin fever in the lyrics. I’m especially happy with the guitar tones in this song. We used really small vintage combo amps when we tracked, and I was worried the guitars wouldn’t sound 'big' since this is a pretty straightforward punk song. I’m glad I was wrong!," says drummer Luke McNeill.

Tour Dates:

27 Sep 2024 in Las Vegas, NV @ The Usual Place (w/ Brendan Kelly, MakeWar)
25 Oct 2024 in Gainesville, FL @ The Fest
26 Oct 2024 in Gainesville, FL @ The Fest

NEW GHOSTS tracklisting:

1. In There Somewhere
2. Born to Hide
3. Buried Treasure
4. Haunt Me Still

Report
Red Scare (2014)

I like most of my music to have a pop bent. Yes, I like it rough around the edges and only mildly repetitive, which often rules out some of the biggest names that fall under ye olde “pop-punk” flag. Ramonescore, for the most part, just doesn’t motivate me like the actual Ramones did.But every now and again, a truly poppy … Read more

Red Scare (2007)

Like the Bible's steadfast conviction in the second coming of Christ, I knew this day would someday come. And goddamnit, it's here! Pop punk - real pop punk - has returned. While far too many bands are priding themselves convoluted songwriting, a whole new batch of bands - some old, some new - are popping up and proving that all … Read more
