A group of five long-time scene members have come together in Edmonton, Alberta to form King Thief, a new group which shares a single now -- "Gymposter Syndrome" -- and news of a debut album in the fall, both via Thousand Islands Records. Members are in or have played with bands such as Teenage Bottlerocket, This Is a Standoff, Choke, and more), playing gruff and intense emotiona punk.
The band formed in 2019 and while they bear similarities to Hot Water Music or Samiam, they also pull from post-hardcore and '70s arena rock, which puts a unique spin on a time-tested formula.
King Thief is:
Eric Neilson - Vocals (Change Methodical, Midnight Peg)
Ryan Podlubny - Guitar ( ex-Fullblast)
Shawn Moncrieff - Guitar (Choke)
Nick Kouremenos - Bass (Fire Next Time, This is a Standoff, TheJohnsons)
Darren Chewka - Drums (Teenage Bottle Rocket, Old Wives)
