March 1 will bring us the debut from Crime Scene, an EP titled Dark Tidings, featuring Jerry A. Lang (Poison Idea) and Pieter Coolen (Toxic Shock). Playing thrashy crossover punk, the EP will release via American Leather Records (North America) and Reality Records (EU).
The project began during pandemic uncertainty, but has roots dating to Toxic Shock opening for Poison Idea in Antwerp.
In a press release, Coolen adds:
I was frustrated, had a lot of riffs floating around in my head and we couldn't rehearse and play shows for months and months...I started making real demos. Not only recording riffs on my phone. Put a lot of work and heart in those recordings. In the end I had about 15-20 songs. And then I noticed that some stuff wasn't for Toxic Shock, so the idea about doing another band with other people started to grow.
The project released a demo tape in 2021 (Phrenetic Chord Records), which now leads to the debut EP. The band notes that more material is in the works.
