John Reis (Rocket from the Crypt, Drive Like Jehu, Hot Snakes) is pairing with Minneapolis 3-piece The Blind Shake for an upcoming album called Modern Surf Classics, set for release on Jan. 27. The project plays instrumental surf rock.

The collaboration is formally named Swami John Reis & The Blind Shake and will release the album on Reis' Swami Records before hitting the road in Feb.
