In a day of mixed news for Green Day, the band has postponed all 2011 tour dates, as well as those set for Jan-Feb 2013 in effort to maintain lead vocalist Billie Joe Armstrong's health. Mike Dirnt offered the following statement:
Obviously the timing for this isn't ideal, but Billie Joe's well-being is our main concern...We are happy to say that Billie Joe is doing well, and we want to thank you all for the outpouring of support and well wishes that we have received, and we can't wait to see you all again soon.
Refunds are available for those who already purchased tickets.
As a trade-off, they have moved the release date for ¡Tré! up to December 11, 2012 from its previously set date of January 15, 2013.
