Emily's Army signs with Rise

Rise Records has signed the teenage Emily's Army to their line-up for the upcoming Lost at Seventeen, to be released on June 11. The trio includes Billie Joe Armstrong's (Green Day) son, Joey. The senor Armstrong also recorded the new album, which follows 2011's Don't Be a Dick.

Jeff Hanneman (Slayer) passes from liver failure

Longtime Slayer guitarist and songwriter Jeff Hanneman passed away on Thursday from liver failure. Hanneman, 49, had not toured with the group since early 2011 when he contracted necrotizing fasciitis, a disease that eats away at tissue. It was most likely caused by a spider bite.
