Obliterations sign with Southern Lord

Southern Lord has signed Los Angeles band Obliterations, who include members and former members of Black Mountain, Saviours, Bluebird, Night Horse and Pink Mountaintops. The band formed in Dec. 2012 and released a 4-song Ep last year, another EP on Volcom last month, and will record their debut full-length for Southern Lord in March at Dave Grohl's Studio 606 in March after hitting SXSW.

Oliver Withöft, Co-Owner of Century Media, passes away

Century Media co-owner Oliver Withöft, 49, passed away on Jan. 20, 2014 after battling illness. Withöft was born in Germany in 1964 and partnered with Rober Kampf in founding Century Media 25 years ago. He is survived by his wife and three daughters. Read more
