Znous

SPB: Znousland 2 contains a cover from a reggae band which seems a very unusual choice for a cover, considering you play hardcore/metal. What made you want to cover this tune?

Znous: We make indeed some sort of heavy music but we have our roots deep in North African and African music.

The band we covered was at some stage of its existence labelled reggae but they are themselves musically wider than being simply reggae. Gultrah Sound System was one of the first acts in Tunisian alternative music history to stand against social injustices and the established dictatorship in pre-revolutionary Tunisia. Our choice of the cover is traced back to what the band represented to the revolutionary generation at the time.
