SPB: What’s the best pop song of the last 10 years?

Paddy: Get Lucky, Daft Punk

Pop music suffers from three significant issues: overproduction, disposable talent and relying too much on current trends. “Get Lucky” managed to defy all three of these issues by being beautifully produced, wonderfully accompanied by Nile Rogers and never straying from Daft Punk’s French disco roots. Also, despite being an ever-present radio fixture around its time of release, “Get Lucky” never felt overexposed to me, rather it sounded like a bunch of music nerds toiling away in a studio making music they wanted to hear, and not giving the slightest hoot weather it was a pop smash or not.

Anyways, that’s my hot take. It's worth noting that I pay very little attention to the pop charts as a whole, and am certainly not an authority on such things.
