Devan Bleyle (Obsolete Man)
SPB: Who designs your merch? (Any stories about the inspiration of a specific piece or, alternately, how did you get involved with this artist?)
Bleyle: Initially, we've done it all ourselves. By doing it ourselves, I mean we found public domain art and free fonts that we liked and built our designs with those. This can be seen on our EP covers and the merch associated with their releases. In particular we've used pieces by Gustav Dore and Van Gogh. We still design some stuff ourselves this way but we've also started working with an up and coming artist, Kyle Frausto, who is a good friend of mine. They recently designed our first run of DIY “Moth” shirts that were hand printed by us in Oakland, CA and are up for sale on our bandcamp. The Moth idea came from us simply throwing ideas for shirt mockups into the band group text and it's what stuck. Kyle's work can be seen @huelessart on instagram.
