SPB: What song would you like played at your funeral?
Valerie Knox: “Evil Side” by The Dirty Nil is deeply meaningful to me, marking a pivotal time of change in my life, and a connection with someone who has become very important to me. Its unconventional beauty resonates with my own experiences, making it a perfect choice for saying goodbye and reflecting on a happy time in my life, while possibly leaving some well-wishers confused.
Emily Bones: I'd pick “Fuck You” by Bad Religion for my funeral because it's a total banger of a song and one final middle finger to this cruel world, with the hope of eliciting a laugh from friends and family.
Michael Crusty: I would have to choose "Dopesmoker" by Sleep because it's 63 minutes long and is absolutely epic! The first lyrics aren't sung until over 8 minutes in. "Drop out of life with bong in hand. Follow the smoke toward the riff-filled land".
