Andy Nelson (Paint It Black / Ceremony / Puerto Rico Flowers / TV Casualty)
What are your top five albums that were released in 2011? (in order 1-5)
- John Maus - We Must Become The Pitiless Censors Of Ourselves
- Royal Headache - self titled
- Morphosis - What Have We Learned

- Total Control - Henge Beat
What band did you discover in 2011 (can be a brand new band or an older band) that had an impact on your life? What made them significant?
The Servants and the first Generation X album. A discovery and a rediscovery. Why these weren't tattooed on my brain as a middle schooler is beyond me. Grateful to have them stuck on repeat now and forever.
How will you remember 2011 (in terms of music)?
An endless montage of blurry headrests and highways. And backstage champagne with Pulp in Toulouse. (Of course, I didn't drink mine.)
What can we look forward to from you in 2012?
Lots, and then some.
What records are you looking forward to most in 2012?
Factory Floor, Give, The Young, //TENSE// and The Ropes.
What did you expect to be huge in 2011 which never made it?
Active political engagement and social compassion over simulated sincerity and merchandising. But really, is anyone surprised?
