What band did you discover in 2011 (can be a brand new band or an older band) that had an impact on your life? What made them significant?
Danishmendt. Was a late discovery. Un Passe Aride slays me. The vocals remind me a lot of La Gritona and the music hits like the bastard spawn of Overmars and Dirge. Checking their back catalog they've made leaps and bounds with each release. Awesome act.
How will you remember 2011 (in terms of music)?
Getting to work on great projects such as Caina's Hands that Pluck and Concealment's Phenakism. The quality and output from the Malignant Records, Zeitgeister Music, Profound Lore and Kairos labels.
What can we look forward to from you in 2012?
A 2 song full-length with artwork by Alex Eckman-Lawn. And, possibly, another full length before the end of 2012. Maybe get a jump on a new project called Lighteater.
What records are you looking forward to most in 2012?
The new Samo, Steeve Hurdle's Chaos, Chaos Infinite Wisdom project, Gorguts, the third part in Blut Aus Nord's 777 trilogy, Seraphim, Pharmakon, Amen Ra, Hexis, Shelob, and Cynic come to mind.
What did you expect to be huge in 2011 which never made it?
When it comes to music I don't think in those terms. Honestly.
