Brendan Kelly (Lawrence Arms / The Falcon / Brendan Kelly and the Wandering Birds)

What are your top five albums that were released in 2011? (in order 1-5)
  1. Ratasucia - White Noise Pollution
  2. Holy Mess - Dismount
  3. Elway - Delusions
  4. Horrible Crowes - Elsie
  5. Copyrights - North Sentinel Island
What band did you discover in 2011 (can be a brand new band or an older band) that had an impact on your life? What made them significant?

Die Antwoord, Lady Gaga, Astronautalis, the Flatliners. Cavalcade is a great record.

How will you remember 2011 (in terms of music)?

Eh, I won't. Kind of a bummer for me. I did nothing this year. Some decent records but it seems like a rebuilding year. Tons of great new bands putting their stakes in the sand but I don't think any of the records on my top five are the definitive records of those careers.

What can we look forward to from you in 2012?

I'm putting out the Brendan Kelly and the Wandering Birds full length in March. I'll also be writing for Lawrence Arms and the Falcon. I'd love to do an ep for each band. We'll see.

What records are you looking forward to most in 2012?

Hands down, the two best records of 2012 will be The Sidekicks-Awkward Breeds and the Menzingers-On the Impossible Past

What did you expect to be huge in 2011 which never made it?

Felching. On paper, it's perfect.
