T (Vegas, Roses Never Fade, Black Sun Valley)
What are your top five albums that were released in 2010? (In order 1-5)
- Katy Perry "Teenage dream"
- Gaslight Anthem "American slang"
- Danzig "Deth red sabaoth"
- Kanye West "My beautiful dark twisted fantasy"
- Integrity - all
What band did you discover in 2010 (can be a brand new band or an older band) that had an impact on your life? What made them significant?
I rediscovered my friends' bands for me, Gehenna and Integrity. Great people, good times, excellent new music.
How will you remember 2010? (In terms of music)
Our first shows in the US, first Roses Never Fade show in an Arabic bar in Belgium, limited access to media as most of 2010 I lived in China.
With more and more bands switching to digital methods of releasing music and communicating with audiences in 2010, do you think there's still a place for physical CDs and word-of-mouth shows in the future?
Vinyl is and has always been the most rewarding format for me, as counterintuitive as it may be in this age of digital downloads where everything analog is anathema to what music is supposed to be. The presence and size of artwork along with the more nuanced sound makes it the format of choice for people who really care about the music.
What can we look forward to from you in 2011?
With VEGAS we got a couple of new releases coming up in 2011: A split 7" with our friends GEHENNA, a split 7" with INTEGRITY and the debut of our BLACK SUN VALLEY project along with new releases by ROSES NEVER FADE. There is also talk of playing more shows in the US and on other continents.
What three records are you looking forward to most in 2011?
- Integrity / Rot in Hell split
- 2 re-releases of my favourite band
- hopefully a new Beasts of Bourbon album
