(Brendan Coon)

What are your top five albums that were released in 2009? (In order 1-5)

  1. Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix

  2. Karen O & The Kids - Where The Wild Things Are OST

  3. Keelhaul - Keelhaul's Triumpant Return To Obscurity

  4. Riceboy Sleeps - Riceboy Sleeps

  5. Them Crooked Vultures - Them Crooked Vultures

What band did you discover in 2009 (can be a brand new band or an older band) that had an impact on your life? What made them significant?

Discovered Fucked Up right at the beginning of the year. Saw them live twice - some of the best shows I've ever seen. I could go on about their perfect mixture of hardcore and melodic pop, but that sounds dumb just writing it. More than anything they make me very very happy.

How will you remember 2009? (In terms of music)

The most wonderful music year personally ever. Best year of my life for my own music and related experiences.

2009 was a huge year for reunions. What reunion excited you the most? What band that has not reunited would you love to see play/record most in 2010?

Reunited: The Beatles (via Rock Band). Who I'd like to see reunite in 2010: Tones on Tail.

What can we look forward to from you in 2010?

More additions to this giant sonic quilt we call "musiq."

What three records are you looking forward to most in 2010?

Holly Miranda, Ghost Robot Ninja Bear, and Arcade Fire.
