What are your top five albums that were released in 2009? (In order 1-5)

  1. Morrissey - Years of Refusal

  2. Earth Crisis - To The Death

  3. Heartsounds - Until We Surrender

  4. Set Your Goals - This Will Be The Death Of Us

  5. Converge - Axe To Fall

What band did you discover in 2009 (can be a brand new band or an older band) that had an impact on your life? What made them significant?

The band I really got into this year was Heartsounds from San Francisco. Ex-members of the metal band Light This City, the band opted for more of a 90's Fat Wreck Chords sound, very fast and melodic punk. Duel lead male and female vocals over fast alternate picking?love it. Hoping they do more in the upcoming year.

How will you remember 2009? (In terms of music)

This year for me hasn't been the greatest for me. Morrissey did release one of the best records of the last ten years and the new Earth Crisis was amazing but overall I felt the releases this year didn't speak to me.

2009 was a huge year for reunions. What reunion excited you the most? What band that has not reunited would you love to see play/record most in 2010?

Outside of the new Earth Crisis record, I was most excited for Burning Fight in Chicago (namely Disembodied and Unbroken). I never got to see Unbroken the first time around but did see Disembodied and thought they were better now than back then. I'm still crossing my fingers for a Harvest reunion?the only band from the 90's that I never got to see that I would truly fly anywhere for (them and Battery).

What can we look forward to from you in 2010?

Perhaps a new band with my old drummer from Where Fear and Weapons Meet?more content for Stuck In The Past and a foreign bands only distro that will sell releases from foreign bands and labels that are not available in the US.

What three records are you looking forward to most in 2010?

The new 108 is the only thing I can think of that's upcoming to be honest. Also I'd like to hear the new Turmoil to see if it's worth the wait (though Jon Gula left some big shoes to fill).
