Basement Records/Bullet Treatment (Mr. Chuck)

What are your top five albums that were released in 2008?

  1. Vultures United - Dirt Hearts
  2. Killing California - Bones & Sand
  3. Street Dogs - State Of Grace
  4. Star Fucking Hipsters - Until We're Dead
  5. Bobot Adrenaline - Unfurled

What band did you discover in 2008 (can be a brand new band or an older band) that had an impact on your life? What made them significant?

Actually a band from the 60's called Love, the Ramones had covered a song from them on the "Acid Eaters" releases and I started going back and finding the original versions of songs from that record. The band Love is amazing and have been listening to them a lot.

How will you remember 2008? (In terms of music)

This last year went by so quick I can't really think of anything other then I'm super stoked on some of the bands we've been releasing through Basement Records, next year is going to be awesome!

Vinyl record sales saw a significant increase this year while hard copy sales continued to dwindle. Is this a return to the glory days for vinyl or just a phase? Explain.

From my point of view I think it'll be a return of the glory days, having released vinyl over the last seven years it has always been a very sought out type of medium. Most punk fans are collectors and they love their vinyl. Plus you just can't go wrong with it, the worst color vinyl is better then a silver CD!

What was the most memorable moment for you in 2008? (Can be in terms of anything)

My daughters first day of school!

What can we look forward to from you in 2009?

Busy year with a slew of great releases, my band Bullet Treatment will have a variety of releases with a bunch of great singers and should make for a very busy year.

What three records are you looking forward to most in 2009?

Bullet Treatment, The Scarred, The Insurgence
