Posted by Jon E. on Tuesday 7th September, 2010Rise Against will be releasing a new DVD, Another Station: Another Mile, on October 5, 2010. The DVD features performances of 14 songs recorded in locations throughout the world. These performances are interspersed with interviews with each band member of the Chicago based band revealing the creative process that goes into making a Rise Against song and the history of each individual band member. The band\'s introduction explains the title:
Since we put together our last DVD, the snowball that is Rise Against is still gathering size and speed. What you hold in your hands is the continuing story of our band, what it means to us, and what it means to people like you. At our request, all the live footage you see in the DVD is completely unedited; meaning we didn\'t go back and fix or re-do anything. We felt it should stand or fall on its own merit, and be embraced for what is, which is live music. Who knows, maybe we\'ll feel differently next year. But for now, the moments are captured raw as we make our way to another station: another mile.
Posted by Jon E. on Tuesday 31st August, 2010We are working on a documentary film that includes a short section highlighting the old Wetlands club in NYC. We\'re hoping to fill some footage gaps in this sequence and are looking for the following:
1) Video footage of bands who played Wetlands during the late 90s. In particular, we\'re looking for recordings of Avail and/ or Chocking Victim, but we are open to other (ideally environmental or political) punk bands. But please note: since we are a PBS film, the music cannot be overly dissonant or aggressive - so we\'re excluding hardcore and classic \'77 punk oriented acts.
2) Video footage or photographs of Wetlands atmosphere -bouncers/ door folks ripping tickets, lines out front, the bar in action, crowds, beer flowing from the tap, etc.
We do have an archival budget - so we are prepared to license the material and arrange for proper compensation and accreditation. Thanks in advance for your help!

Posted by Jon E. on Thursday 5th August, 2010Behemoth have set “Evangelia Heretika” as the title to their new DVD outing which will be out through Metal Blade this fall. More details on the effort will be announced shortly. In the meantime, band frontman/guitarist Nergal commented on the outing with the following:
“We’ve been through hell and back to make this release happen. I know we only have a few DVD’s in our catalogue so far but they are not even close to what you are gonna experience with EVANGELIA HERETIKA! Expect approximately 5 hours of essential Behemoth. Long-time Behemoth artistic collaborator, Graal, has provided us with some of his most disturbing and completed vision to date.”
For now, the cover art for the outing can be found over at the bands Facebook. As previously reported, the band will be touring North America in support of the effort later this year.

Nachtmystium embrace the true spirit of individuality and intolerance forming solely as an outlet to express the dark musical visions and summonings of those involved. This vicious, uncompromising group (led by mastermind Blake Judd) has also just lent itself to the new disturbing and eerie new video clip for the track, "Every Last Drop," shot by Jimmy Hubbard and Seldon Hunt, edited by Alan Dubin (ex-Khanate, Gnaw), Special FX Make Up by Brandy McDonald and the Director of Photography Chris Polinski. It also features Judd, Bruce Lamont (Yakuza) and Aubrey Smith (the girl on the Addicts: Pt. 2 cover). It was shot in Brooklyn, New York on Saturday July 24th and Sunday July 25th. The Godfathers of Swedish modern metal, Soilwork, are currently working on a music video for the song "Deliverance Is Mine" to be directed by Ivan Colic (Ex Deo, Type O Negative, Unleashed) and produced by Stanimir Lucik. The track comes off their latest upcoming release The Panic Broadcast. A few still photos from the story board stage of the project are attached. The band recently talked a little bit about the concept behind the new clip:
"Our new video \'Deliverance Is Mine\' will be the follow-up to 2003\'s CGI animated masterpiece \'Light The Torch\'. We\'ve always loved that clip and it\'s really exciting to be able to give it a sequel! The song is about people living through others like parasites, a perfect setting for the evil scientist and his humanoid servant to continue their cruel experiments. So far the first drafts look jaw-dropping and we have no doubt that the team over at Rock The Nation will do an amazing job on \'Deliverance Is Mine\'!"
Posted by Jon E. on Friday 4th June, 2010Decrepit Birth recently wrapped up filming a video for their track “The Resonance” with director Ann Christin “Ank” Rihm. The band commented on the shoot with the following statement:
“We shot our first video last week for ‘The Resonance. ‘We had a blast shooting late into the night, deep in the dark of the Mojave desert! The director Anki, had a great vision of what she wanted to do. We had a chance to preview some of the footage, and we couldn’t be more pleased with what we saw! It was about time for us to do a video and we are glad we had such awesome conditions to shoot our first. Get ready!”
For now, some photos from the shoot can be found online via the bands Myspace. “The Resonance” is taken from the bands new album “Polarity“, which will see a July 27th North American release date through Nuclear Blast.

Posted by Jon E. on Wednesday 14th April, 2010During the soundcheck for the opening date of his music/comedy tour in Eugene, Oregon, a couple days ago, resurgent late night funnyman Conan O\'Brien whipped out a "Weird Al"-style redux of Radiohead\'s smash "Creep" (via TwentyFourBit via the Daily What). His British accent may be a little more Jarvis Cocker than Thom Yorke, but we won\'t hold it against him. Watch it below. (Note: This is not the first time we\'ve seen Conan do "Creep".)
Spoon also hit the stage at Conan\'s show in Eugene, but video has yet to surface. O\'Brien\'s Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television tour is making its way through North America right now. Click here for dates. And after that, he\'ll be back on TV hosting a talk show on, uh, TBS.

Posted by Jon E. on Monday 12th April, 2010J. Mascis’ new project, SWEET APPLE have premiered their new video “Do You Remember” on Stereogum. All you really need to know about the video is this (from the press release): “Do You Remember” opens with the band’s bassist getting fired from his drab office job and then walking out into the street with his guitar, er, tennis racket case. He’s joined by the rest of the bandmates on a dingy street in Brooklyn, en route to a ritzy tennis club on the Upper East Side of Manhattan
